Review of the Sigma 50mm F1.4 Canon Mount
So I have been using this for video and photos for over the past week and overall, it is an amazing piece of glass.
Pros:
- Pictures come out with very nice colours and great contrast
- Very sharp, even when wide open
- The bokeh is just outstanding with it’s 9 curved apeture blades, even at f4 the bokeh balls are still round
- Very quick and quiet when auto focusing
- Comes with a hood lens
- and that front element is just huge… it looks and acts like a black hole
Cons
- Not weather sealed
- Some auto focusing issues, but very little
- When adjusting the aperture in movie mode, it makes a little clicking noise
I just wish it was weather sealed and it would have been perfect. If you have the extra $200, I recommend this over the Canon 50mm F1.4 for sure.
